Tuscan Meat Sauce
Running low on Ridgeline Spice Tuscan Seasoning?
Directions
In a skillet brown 1lb of lean ground beef cook thoroughly on medium until there is no visible pink. Drain the grease from the ground beef and set aside.
Add olive oil to a deep skillet or saucepan and heat on med-low. While the olive oil is heating dice the yellow onion into 1in by 1in pieces. Once the oil is hot add the diced onion to the pan and cook until the onions become slightly transparent.
Add the tomato paste, fire roasted tomatoes, and beef broth to the pan with the onions. Increase the heat to medium, and stir until combined evenly.
Add the cooked ground beef to the pan with the sauce, and season with Ridgeline Spice Tuscan Seasoning 1-2 tablespoons is recommended based on taste preference.
OPTIONAL ADDITION
When I’m making this sauce for stuffed peppers or sloppy joe’s I like to add some cooked couscous to the meat to add a little substance.
